Asset Management

Asset management can be defined as the actual process by which the assets collected by institutional investors are invested in the capital markets. Asset management is the act of a principal giving his or her assets to a trustee who provides financial management services to the principal. It is a financial institution acting as an agent to invest client assets in the financial markets and obtain investment returns for the client. Another form of asset management is to act as a manager of assets to the trustee's estate, investing mainly in industry, including but not limited to productive enterprises. This management is less risky, has lower returns than the capital markets and has lower investment thresholds.
